The Ferrar family open new swim school with 300 students already enrolled!

Ann and Greg Ferrar, owners of JUMP! Swim Schools Ormeau, held JUMP!’s most successful Open Day this year!

The Ferrars celebrated their Open Day last weekend with over 100 families in attendance.

Ann said,

“We had an overwhelming response from the Ormeau community. The weather was fabulous and the children really enjoyed the balloon artists, the mermaid and the jumping castle. We loved that so many from head office took the time to come help and celebrate with us”.

“We received so much positive feedback and compliments from the community on our facility and us opening up here. Our research on Ormeau identified the need for a learn-to-swim facility, and so it was great to get confirmation.

“We had anticipated a busy day so had arranged extra help from friends, but still our free sausage sizzlers had a busy time keeping up with demand. Other than that, our day went off without a hitch.

“To get to over 250 bookings before open day was a dream come true, and such a welcoming endorsement.”

Ann & Greg are set to start trading in a couple of weeks time. Already they have 300 students signed on to start lessons with them.

Who is Ann and Greg?

Ann and Greg, together with their children; Samantha, Garreth and Jenna, have over 20 years of swimming and aquatic-industry experience.

Ann has a long history in early childhood teaching – at first running her own pre-school before getting involved in learn-to-swim, where she taught more than 1,000 children over 10 years. Greg has a background in marketing and sales within the engineering field.

Keeping JUMP! in the family, Ann and Greg’s eldest daughter, Samantha, soon celebrates her first work anniversary managing the highly successful JUMP! Swim Schools in Leichhardt, Sydney.

 

Why did Greg and Ann decide to purchase a franchise with JUMP!?

Looking for a lifestyle change, Ann and Greg moved from Sydney to fulfill the dream of owning their own swim school.

“When we decided to move to the Gold Coast, we did extensive research into demographics of various areas. With only 2011 census data, this meant driving around to get a better feel, and ultimately choosing Ormeau which presented the best opportunities.

“The teaching model and boutique style really sold it to us. This together will the well-packaged teaching and staff training tools.”

 

We asked them what challenges they see for the future.

“Having so much fun at work, we might not want to go home!”
